Suddenly Lost In Words is a digital anthology looking for short stories, memoirs and poetry for Young Adult readers. Stories should be no more than 3,000 words. Payment is 5 cents a word. No deadline for submissions is listed, but you can find all the guidelines here.


Luminosity is a new digital publisher of romance and erotic romance. They plan to launch soon and are actively seeking manuscripts from 10,000 to 100,000 words and above. They publish all sub-genres of romance and erotic romance. Right now they are especially interested in stories featuring couples enjoying a second chance at love (reunion stories), dark “noir” romances, and bad boy heroes. Check out their Special Calls page. Cosmopolitan Magazine is looking for a fiction writer to engage readers with an ongoing story on the  magazine’s Bedroom Blog. The writer would create two 500-word blog posts — essentially, installments in an ongoing story — each week, as well as three tweets a day. Payment is $600 a month for one year. Hofstra Law is sponsoring a mystery writing contest for the best crime story featuring a lawyer as the main character. First prize is $500, second place gets $200 and the third place winner receives $100. Stories should be no more than 3,500 words. The deadline for entries is May 1. See the details here.
