They are sponsoried a “From Blurb to Book” contest. The deadline to submit your 100-word blurb and the first page of your manuscript for consideration is this Friday, April 3rd. The editors are looking for “warm and fuzzy contemporary romance” for Love Inspired, romantic suspense for Love Inspired Suspense and historical romance for Love Inspired Historical. The e-book only novella, Rocky Mountain Getaway, follows the story of Danielle and Janelle’s chance at the spotlight on a national cooking show. Cicada, a literary magazine for young adults, is looking for fiction for an upcoming issue with the theme of Mutiny. Editor-in-chief Marianne Carus is interested in stories of up to 9,000 words. Payment is 25 center per word and the deadline is April 30, 2015. Find out more here.


Fine Linen Magazine is seeking flash fiction of between 200 and 700 words , on any theme and in any genre. Editors  Dave Morehouse and Kathleen Cassen Mickelson pay five cents a word  for original, previously unpublished stories. Find out more here.
